A Joint Cooperation Protocol Between the Faculty and the Information Technology Institute

As part of the Faculty of Computers and Informatics at Zagazig University’s efforts to establish a joint cooperation protocol with the Information Technology Institute (ITI) affiliated with the Ministry of Communications, a delegation from the Faculty conducted a field visit to the Digital Egypt Innovation Hub at ITI’s Zagazig branch.

The delegation was led by:

  • Prof. Amal Farouk Abdel-Gawad (Dean of the Faculty)
  • Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Basit Metwally (Vice Dean for Environmental Development and Community Service Affairs)

Accompanied by a team of faculty members:

  • Dr. Mahmoud Al-Namouli (Director of the Training Unit)
  • Dr. Alshimaa Tantawi (Director of the Quality Unit)
  • Dr. Hosnaa Raafat (Director of the Academic Advising Unit)
  • Dr. Safaa Al-Saeed (Coordinator of the Medical Informatics Program)
  • Dr. Ahmed Al-Rifai (Department of Computer Science)

Activities During the Visit:

  • Inspecting the center’s facilities and various resources that support the training process.
  • Attending some ongoing activities at the center involving students from the Faculty of Engineering collaborating with students from the Faculty of Computers and Informatics.
  • Meeting outstanding graduates from the Faculty of Computers and Informatics at Zagazig University who joined the center and are now achieving success in the labor market.
  • Listening to a detailed presentation about the center's diverse training services, admission system, types of scholarships, and more.

Discussions on Joint Cooperation:

  • Exploring the center’s role in providing internship opportunities for the Faculty's students in collaboration with key industry players.
  • Creating advanced training opportunities to enhance the skills of faculty members and their assistants in specialized fields, particularly in cybersecurity.
  • Organizing workshops and events to significantly enhance the career guidance provided to students.
  • Outlining the main points of cooperation between the center and the Faculty’s Consultation Center to enhance and diversify community services related to technology.

The visit was successful, with warm hospitality and a positive reception from the center’s team in Zagazig.

The next meeting will involve communication with ITI's senior management to finalize the terms of the cooperation protocol and commence implementing these initiatives.
